Exploring art from spiritual to a cultural and psychological lens, its fascinating to find how stories add color and shape the world around us. Many cultures and religions have used spirit animals as a guide to how we make choices and move with meaning in life. For this series, the moth, wolf, fish and crow symbolisms were used and composed for each persona.

The moth is a symbol of transformation often signifying a need for change. Unlike the butterfly, moths are often ignored to be less appealing and in a way a darker counterpart. According to Butterfly Insights, brown moths represent the need for a cleanse, a shift from stagnancy to real growth.

The composition reflects move out of comfort and shift to real movement like allowing air into a stagnant space.

In indigenous cultures, the wolf is a sacred animal. It has sharp primal instincts, strength and familial bond that can offer wisdom, guidance and growth.

More often the message is to understand the necessary law of nature, embrace challenges and focus on facing fears. It often leads one to find untapped power within, a sort of dormant part of us waiting to wake up.

Native Americans associated crows as tricksters or messengers of change. These clever and sharp birds provide guidance to see beyond illusions, to understand duality in life and a need to discern the good from the bad.

In esoteric and spiritual beliefs, creatures of water are often associated with emotions. The betta fish are more than just beautiful mesmerising fish that live undewater, they are fierce, resilient and flexible. They move in harmony with their surroundings to create balance.

They offer the guidance that while emotions offer depth, to move fluidly it is necessary to stay adaptable.
